Amit Sangwan received his B.Tech (Bachelor’s of Technology) Electronics and Communication Engineering degree from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Haryana, India in June 2013. He started his career as the Research and Development Engineer at Technology Uncorked an innovative start-up company, India from August 2013 to June 2015. He received his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY, USA, in June 2017 and is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY, USA under the guidance of Dr. Josep M. Jornet. His current research interests are in the field of Internet of nano-things, nano-optical antennas, antenna design and beamforming, terahertz band communication and bio-nano implant communications.


He started his research career by applying the expertise of embedded systems design and development learnt during his industrial experience to solve the research problems such as providing the wireless connectivity and enabling communications to the wearable medical devices. Meanwhile, also developing the state of art flexible printed circuits for the Low-Power wireless area networks for Internet of Things for NanoThings.Inc.

Most recent area of research is the optical communication feasibility analysis and design for enabling communications to the nano-bio implants for lung cancer detection.
